Fertilizer Control System Upgrade

A fertilizer manufacturing and distribution facility upgraded their Control System.

The project involved:

• Replacing existing pneumatic board and field mounted controllers
• Replacing existing Honeywell Experion System
• Two new MCC’s
• New field instrumentation,
• On-Line swing over of Loading systems

Langtree was responsible for the Instrument / Electrical / portion of the project including

• FEED,
• Reverse Engineering existing controls,
• Instrumentation and Electrical equipment specification,
• Detailed design,
• Preparation of On-Line swing over plan, and
• Validating and updating new control system configuration,
• Integrating Modbus subsystems,
• Construction Support, and
• Commissioning

The major equipment for this project consisted of:

• Yokogawa Centum VP DCS
• Yokogawa Prosafe-RS
• CCC Antisurge Controller
• Bently Nevada 3500 Series Vibration Monitors
